Welcome to griffsongs.com and the music of Trevor David Griffin, a multi-instrumentalist singer songwriter with a wealth
of original and varied material.
I have broken my music down into three categories- rock songs, rock based
instrumentals, and electro instrumental music, with everything written, performed and recorded by myself.
The rock
songs are mainly guitar based "big songs", the rock instrumentals are more free form with different textures, while
the electro instrumentals are more "soundscapes".
The merging of a rock emphasis with electronic forms
is where I find myself happiest working, and a sense of liveness and naturalness is hopefully evident throughout all pieces.
Influences
are many and varied- broadly cross Depeche Mode with Zeppelin for the rock based songs, bring in the influences of Kraftwerk
and Rush for the instrumentals, then strip everything down to electronics and "mind painting" for the soundscapes. I've
also always liked the idea of the old EP's and having different styles of music combined in one package- so various 4
track EP discs are also available.
